Boulder Opal

Australia’s Boulder Opal fields are located in the western parts of the state of Queensland. In an area that’s roughly 300km wide and 1.000 km long, you sometimes get lucky and find an Opal vain. Those are dug up with heavy machinery by experienced miners. Boulder Opals are always cut and processed with the surrounding, iron rich Sandstone.
